BACK TO SCHOOL!

Welcome back to all the educators, administrators and students around the country!

Teachers increasingly face union negotiations and personal expenses getting back to class. How do we prepare our bodies and minds for school? new rules? new admin? new students? How do you prepare after having Summer off?  Why not start fresh with inspiration and deep reflection.

Peacemaking offers sacred space for trust building, bonding, reflection, conflict resolution and if needed negotiations too.  The sacredness comes from confidentiality and allowing each person time to talk UN-interrupted without fear of retribution or judgment. Reflection comes from both speaking your truth and actively listening to each other. Hearing stories from your colleagues may inspire you in unexpected ways.

The best gift any school can give students is space to freely express themselves and educators who model healthy interpersonal skills. Today is a great reminder to reflect with the 17th anniversary of 9/11 happening during the school week.  Talking Circles can break the ice and unload any baggage being brought in from previous experiences.  Youth Keepers, trained to lead circles, are powerful allies in conflict resolution during the year.

We all want inclusive environments that foster creative freedom and enthusiasm to learn so why not try something old...made new.
