Happy Summer! I'm looking forward to celebrating events that we haven't been able to attend since 2019. We're using safety measures and traveling in smaller groups but we anticipate large crowds to welcome back Seafair in the NW. Enjoy renewed travel in and out of town this summer and remember to mask up and stay safe. Some of our favorite events are the All Nations Pow Wow, University of Washington street fair, Hydro races and an Air show featuring the Blue Angels, and Umoja Fest.
Celebrate! I've been an ordained master healer for 10 years, and so much has happened. Back in 2012 I learned traditional peacemaking and started on a journey of community activism, outreach, and systems building. Now, amid a global Pandemic, I've been facilitating professional development for educators and supporting advocacy for the formation of a Federal Department of Peacebuilding. Onward and upward towards restorative healing and justice for all!
Love and Blessings,
...'21,'22 is about health, wellness and beauty as we emerge out of this historic pandemic. Be gentle with yourself and take it one day at a time.
Slow and cautious is the new normal this school year. We are excited to see students returning to class both online and in person. If your school is ready to embrace restorative practices in the classroom schedule an introductory session today!
Dates and times are filling up, especially the two weeks before official start of school, so make sure to request your time slot soon. A study done by Georgetown Law, back in May 2021, shows the benefits of restorative practices in schools for vulnerable girls.
